As more communities bring Complete Streets principles into their plans and practice, how can we anticipate and prepare for the challenges inherent in creating streets that better accommodate all users? Join a conversation with four professionals advancing complete streets at every stage of the process, from regional planning and municipal policy to design, implementation, and maintenance.

Annual CNU Utah Awards Breakfast. 

Our keynote speaker this year is Keunhyun Park, USU professor and researcher on the impact of urban design on street activity. 

We will also announce the winners of the annual CNU Utah awards and the results of the board elections. 

Keunhyun Park, Ph.D., is an assistant professor in the Department of Landscape Architecture and Environmental Planning at Utah State University. He holds a Ph.D. in Metropolitan Planning, Policy, Design from the University of Utah and bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Landscape Architecture from Seoul National University. His research interests include technology-driven behavioral research (e.g., drone, VR/AR, sensor, etc.), behavioral outcomes of smart growth, and active living.

As our communities continue to evolve, we are forced to examine the growth, quality of life and transformation of our communities through the application of equitable roads, paths & trails. Learn how collaborative efforts with the participation of local community groups, city and state organizations have driven the investment and development of bike & walking facilities, safer roadways and a continuation of air quality advocacy and policy implementation. Join a conversation with four professionals advancing active transportation infrastructure at every stage of the process, from regional planning and municipal policy to funding, design, implementation, and maintenance.

This is a free event to the public, which will take place Thursday, December 7, 2023, at 6:30 pm in the auditorium of the Salt Lake City Main Library at 210 E 400 S, Salt Lake City UT 84111. The films being shown are a series of short films that focus on topics of community building.
