Søren Simonsen is an architect, urban designer, educator, community-builder and social entrepreneur. Over the past three decades, including 17 years of public service as an appointed and elected official, he has worked to create livable and prosperous cities, sustainable buildings, and vibrant public places, in Utah and the West. His work also includes extensive agriculture, wild lands and natural resource conservation efforts.
Søren is the Executive Director of Community Studio, an urban design and real estate consulting company. He founded Impact Hub Salt Lake, a co-working space and incubator for social entrepreneurs, and recently launched Strawtegi, an enterprise that integrates urban infill and natural building to create regenerative communities.
Søren has been at the forefront of the CNU movement for over two decades, and is an organizer and founding board member of the CNU Utah Chapter.
